Rajalakshmi Engineering College (R.E.C), is a private engineering college located at Thandalam, Sriperumbudur near Chennai. The design focus is to create an environment for overall development of students in academics, co & extra curriculars, socialize, organize, lead and leap in their walks of life. The design process was driven by a critical investigation of the college’s. immediate urban and social context.  The design team aims not merely to plan for the hardware of the university buildings, but through of interactions between students of different department. Our team’s belief is that a closely knitted community with shared values is most important in the creation of a successful campus life of meaningful fulfillment. The master plan also attempts to allow sufficient flexibility in meeting any future expansion needs. The proposal is an assimilation of concepts covering sustainability, interfacing and integration with nature, reinforcing the college communities and multi-disciplinary collaborations and intellectual creativities.
